The proclamation of the Year of Consecrated Life by Holy Father Francis begins on the Vigil of Advent Sunday, November 29, 2014 and will end on February 2, 2016, which is World Day of Consecrated Life!

The main objectives and some activities of the upcoming Year of Consecrated Life were presented on January 31, 2014 in the Press Center of the Holy See. The Prefect of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, Cardinal João Braz de Aviz, together with the Secretary of the Congregation Josém Rodríguez Carball, OFM, were the presenters.

The First Objective of the Year of Consecrated Life: There is an opportunity for ‚a grateful reminder‘ of the past 50 years
that separates us from Second Vatican Council, as a time of grace for Consecrated life
The Second Objective: Grab the future with Hope with a positive view of the time of grace from the Second Vatican Council until today
The Third Objective: Live in the Presence with the Passion of Christ

This year we want to walk in joy and thanksgiving with the Lord for His gift to us, for the Church and for the world. With God's help, we want to fulfill objectives that are before us. We want to become more aware of what our Lord endows us with, more realization of a time of grace and the gifts that God, in His generosity, gave each one of us at the time of our Profession. With experience, we want to share some personal testimonies published on this website.
