Soon Proclaimed Blessed, Mother Alphonse Marie,

Lives in our Hearts

On August 18, 2018 three Sisters from the Slovak Province made their final profession in the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Spišská Nová Ves. They professed their vows in the hands of the Superior General, Sister Johanna Vogl. Holy Mass was celebrated by the Bishop of Spiš diocese, Msgr. Štefan Sečka.

At the reception, the Superior General, Sister Johanna Vogl said: “Today our Sisters made a decisive step in front of the public – they courageously surrendered their lives to God, Jesus Christ, and our Congregation.”

Especially now, shortly before the Beatification of our Foundress, Mother Alphonse Marie, on September 9, 2018, we celebrated this religious feast day with great gratitude.

After the celebration, our three Sisters expressed their opinion, how Mother Alphonse Marie influenced their lives:

Sister M. Karolína said:  “Mother Alphonse Marie taught me to see the cross by the right view – a view that sees in the cross the proof of God's love and existentially understands the value and meaning of redemption.”

Sister M. Zdenka said: “Mother Alphonse Marie for me, is an example how she, from her early childhood, submitted herself to the Virgin Mary and allowed Mary to teach and raise her for Jesus.”

Sister M. Chiara said: “From the beginning of my religious life I have been addressed by Mother Alphonse Marie through her simplicity and submission to God’s will in every situation.”

The Superior General, Sister Johanna Vogl, at the end of the reception emphasized: “Our Foundress, Mother Alphonse Marie encourages us, ‘Have courage, God is with you!’ If only these encouraging words strengthen our Sisters once the celebration passes and everyday life begins, once they will have to testify their vocation, and once they will need help.”
