Gratitude and New Mission

A Thanksgiving Holy Mass for the beatification of our Foundress, Alphonse Marie Eppinger, was celebrated on April 6, 2019, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of the General Motherhouse in Rome. This Thanksgiving Holy Mass was also a farewell for our neighbors, friends, known priests and religious women, because the seat of the Generalate will be transferred to Austria.
Among the invited guests was Sister M. Katarína Krištofová, Postulator for the beatification process of Alphonse Marie. She carried the relic of the new blessed during the entrance procession to the chapel.
The Superior General, Sister Johanna Vogl, welcomed all present. She briefly presented the history of the work in Rome and expressed gratitude, mainly, to God and to all, who worked with us and supported us in Rome.
The celebrant, Father Paolo Bertollo SP, in his homily, highlighted the spiritual good which was brought through the witnesses of the Sisters, who lived in this community in Rome.
The agape, followed by Holy Mass, was for all present. It was a nice time of spontaneous conversations, memories, as well as, visions to the future.
One of the guests wrote into our chronicle: “When you close the doors, you open your windows!”
We are aware of the need to be open to the signs of our time. In the spirit of Blessed Alphonse Marie, we want to accept the people without distinction and constantly offer open hearts and hands to the most needy.
Long-term decision-making process about the seat of the Generalate is completed. We are leaving to live closer to our provinces. We believe that we walking the path that our Lord prepared for us.
