“I am the resurrection and the life.
Whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live” (Jn 11:25).

In the light of the Easter sun the mysteries of the earth get new light. (Friedrich von Bodelschwingh).

“The resurrection of Christ is the principle of new life for every man and every woman, for true renewal always begins from the heart, from the conscience. Yet, Easter is also the beginning of the new world, set free from the slavery of sin and death; the world opened at last to the Kingdom of God, a Kingdom of love, peace and fraternity. Christ is alive and He remains with us. Risen, He shows us the light of His face, and He does not abandon all those experiencing hardship, pain and sorrow.” (Pope Francis, Urbi et Orbi, 2019)

Especially now, in this challenging time, the message of the resurrection is the source of strength and the motivation for sincerity, prudence, and staying calm. Christians are, no less, afflicted with fear, worry, and doubt about the future. Yet, we want to raise our heads because our redemption is at hand, (cf. Lk 21:28), because we are drawn into His resurrection.

May this conviction strengthen our concern for people. May we draw strength and energy from this hope for the future. May the Church, our Communities, and families become the places of hope, although at a healthy “social distance”. May our belief in the resurrection enable us to do it.

Have a blessed Easter in hope and trust.
